Laura Fried
Laura Fried is executive director of Active Cultures, a Los Angeles-based public arts nonprofit that explores the intersection of art, food and ecology.
She has held curatorial positions in cities across the United States and currently serves on the board of directors of The Judith Center, the advisory board of Vidiots Foundation and the community council of Salmon Creek Arts in Mendocino.
Fried earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and fine arts from Amherst College and a Master of Arts in the history of art from Williams College and the Clark Art Institute. She and her partner, Matthew, are the parents of Otis and joined The Waverly School community in 2025.
