Welcome to The Waverly School!

  • Are actively involved in their education
  • Become responsible for their growth as students
  • Are encouraged to work to their highest level
  • Base learning on life experiences
Our preschool, elementary, middle, and high school programs are designed to respect and support children individually as they journey through the stages of learning and to incorporate all aspects of human development – social, physical, aesthetic, and ethical.

In preschool, the focus is on fostering children’s curiosity, imagination, creativity, and love of learning primarily through play.

Each teaching team in the elementary school develops a social studies theme for the school year that incorporates language arts, math, science, the arts, and community service.

The middle school program is designed to meet students’ needs for social and emotional support while strengthening their academic skills.

High school offers a tightly knit community and a challenging and engaging college-preparatory program.

Every day, Waverly teachers create experiences that challenge students to ponder, to experiment, and to problem-solve.

Our Approach to Admissions

At Waverly, we value the opportunity to get to know students and families throughout the admissions process. We seek curious, creative, and compassionate learners who are eager to explore, grow, and contribute to a community grounded in empathy, responsibility, and engagement.

Our holistic review considers each student’s academic and developmental readiness, social-emotional strengths, learning potential, interests, and how they may grow within Waverly’s program and community.

We are committed to building inclusive and diverse classrooms where students feel seen, valued, and inspired. We welcome the identities, experiences, perspectives, learning styles, and family backgrounds that strengthen our community.

When space allows, preference may be given to siblings, children of faculty and staff, and alumni families. Enrollment is grounded in a strong school-family partnership, shared alignment with Waverly’s mission, and open communication about each student’s needs.

Our classrooms reflect and honor multiple perspectives, helping students grow as empathetic, informed, and engaged members of society. Learn more here.
